AIWA is a sub brand of the Sony Corporation. The brand stretches back decades and is more recently known for its cool, minicomponent stereo systems.
Go Man Go Digital Marketing, designed and developed a customised CMS Flash web site for AIWA in 2003.
Client Brief
As part of a global initiative, AIWA Australia required a website to
target the Australian youth market. It was to be engaging, utilise rich
media, extend offline advertsing creative and integrate into the Sony
content management system (built by Go Man Go) and the Sony product
database.
Go Man Go Website Design Services
Services included website design and development of a
funky, fun website to launch AIWA’s new range of products aimed at
the 13-25 year old market. The website also included cutting edge
content from the Australian hip hop music scene. Working with Sony's advertising agency, the “Move Your Head” marketing concept was extended throughout the
website with quirky, interactive animations of ‘moving heads’ for users
to navigate the rich content.
Home Interface
Having had access to focus test groups and reports, we were aware that communicating with the youth market required more than just a few Flash animations. The site also required meaningful and relevant content to capture the attention and the hearts and minds of young people.

AIWA stereos, AIWA MP3 players. It was clear that the local music community needed to be involved. We believed that it was important for AIWA to focus on a style of music that was emerging yet homegrown, rather than straight commercial pop or rock music. The Australian Hip Hop scene was chosen.
Four main sections were displayed on the site - ‘Products’, ‘Artists’, ‘What’s On’ & ‘Spotlight’. ‘Artists’ and ‘What’s On’ featured band interviews and a calendar of events, while ‘Spotlight’ focused on the featured band for the month. Several band tracks were available for selection on the custom built MP3 Flash radio channel.
