Solomon Star News is Solomon Island's leading newspaper located in Honiara, the country's capital. The third largest archipelago in the South Pacific, Solomon Islands has 87 indigenous languages including Melanesian Pidgin English.

The English language is spoken and understood throughout the Solomon Islands.

 

 

Client  Brief
The business required a news portal design, that would allow them to structure and publish their news content more efficiently. In addition it needed to include banner ad management and a business directory for the region.

The Joomla content management system utilised for this project provides Solomon Star with the flexibility for publishing news stories quickly  and efficiently around the clock.

The Homepage and News Section landing pages showcase feature stories with links to the individual news articles. The latest news stories are also displayed, along with the most popular stories in each category. Advertising banners are present throughout the website.

Solomon Star News also required an online business directory to promote the Island's many businesses, travel and tourism operators. The site attracts large volumes of traffic from around the South Pacific region.
