Backpackers World Travel have a fully-integrated and very sophisticated ecommerce travel booking & reservation system / content management system, to manage all tourism product and site content.
Consumers across the globe are able to buy travel product online, ranging from a funky hostel room in Melbourne to a 3-day dive on the Great Barrier Reef. The site has evolved over the past 3 years, with a recent design refresh and the addition of a crew blog.
Included in the design refresh was a Web 2.0 blog. Backpackers World Travel required a customised Wordpress crew blog integrated into their ecommerce website. Written by travellers for travellers, the blog features four languages - English, German, Czech Republic and Portuguese and includes staff recommendations regarding places to go and visit, along with their own travel experiences. It is updated by Backpackers World Travel staff all over Australia and New Zealand.
