December has arrived. A celebratory month for many of us. It is a time to reflect on the past 11 months, appreciating what we do have and looking forward to the new year ahead. For our December theme 'One World' we wanted to celebrate life on this planet by featuring some of the people who live in our amazing world. Our guest photographer Chris McLennan has travelled around the globe on numerous photographic assignments. Chris has visited both famous and out of the way places, and met people from all different walks of life. His stunning images fit in beautifully with our home page theme and we are very excited to be able to showcase some of his work this month featuring the wonderful people he has met.
About our guest photographer
Chris McLennan has been a commercial travel photographer for nearly
twenty years and is highly regarded in the photographic industry both in New Zealand and internationally. He was recently the keynote speaker at the Photographic Society of New Zealand's Northern Region convention and was a huge success due to his natural ability to offer inspiration,
motivation, practical advice and
experience to other photographers and enthusiasts within the industry.
He boasts endorsement relationships on an international level with many of the top brands within the industry, and has a list of international awards that includes the PDN National Geographic Traveller Great Outdoors Photo competition, winning the Outdoor Sports and Activities categories two years running in 2009 and 2010.
On the 1st of November 2010 Chris launched his Intrepid Photo Tours, designed to provide inspiration and practical instruction to aspiring photographers. Travel adventures to Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Alaska and New Zealand are planned for 2011.

Three of the images above are from his recent photo tour in Papua New Guinea (PNG) where the winner of a New Zealand Photography Magazine got to travel with Chris, working as his "assistant". The winner experienced working on a real commercial photo shoot and then a six day travel shoot exploring and photographing the cultural tribes and areas in PNG's remote interior regions. The shots captured by Chris during the trip were amazing.
